A beach blog

Here are just a few pics from the weekends in Greenwich. Sunday is usually "beach day" and sometimes Dave and I go on our own to the near beach in Tod's Point, whereas most times we all go together in the Eaton-Koch family boat. We are definitely enjoying this summer and the warm weather while we can. Before we know it, we'll be back in Sweden or Ireland with their "normal" cold summers...

Someone with long legs...

This creature floated into shore the other day. Dave and I were taken aback by it. What is it? Why is it here? What does it want? We only found the answer to one of our questions, it's a horseshoe crab. Underneath, it has big, long legs and looks more like a crab than from above.

In the afternoon, the beach gets quieter and that's the time of day Dave likes the most.

Last Sunday (8 days ago) Dave and I took the ferry out to one of the little islands near Greenwich town (Captain's Island). Our famliy had taken their boat earlier in the morning and gone picknicking and we wanted to join them.

Alex wanted to bring her latest Martha Stuart Wedding Magazine since it matched her bikini so well.

Some of the enormous villas along the coast of Greenwich. They all have private moorings for their boats (or yachts) and some even have small private beaches...

After a day on the beach, Beth and Dave load the classic American whatever-it-is (Lincoln?) with our stuff and we go home to the barbecue.

Some days we go out with Mike and Mary's bigger powerboat where you don't even have to go home for the barbecue, but can have it onboard.

That's all for now. Next time, join in for an update on how the Greenwich Harbor Art Symposium is going and what's happening with Dave's metal sculpture "the Wave"...
